Bridgeway Counseling

Compassionate, evidence‑based counseling

Serving Gig Harbor and the South Puget Sound area

About Lauren

I completed my counseling training through the University of Colorado Denver's culturally responsive program. I started my counseling career in the schools. This work developed my skills in mediation, career interests and executive functioning skills work. Since transitioning into private practice and having the opportunity to delve more deeply with clients into their challenges I have specialized in anxiety, depression and life transitions.

I sincerely love the work that I do and am so honored to be a part of the positive changes my clients find in themselves and make in their lives.

I work with adults and teens through a solution-focused and strength-based lens. My work focuses on:

  • Anxiety & Panic: Developing coping strategies and reducing avoidance patterns.
  • Depression: Building self-esteem, boosting motivation, and finding emotional regulation.
  • Life Transitions: Making difficult decisions, processing grief through anticipated or unanticipated changes or loss, and taking steps to find your new normal or pursue your own best life.
  • Self-Discovery: Unlocking authenticity by clarifying values and aligning decisions accordingly.
  • Relationship Skills: Improving boundaries, attachment styles, self-advocacy, and conflict resolution.
  • Executive Functioning: Enhancing focus, organization, motivation, and career exploration.

Transitions and change are inevitable as we navigate our lives, and they can sometimes cause significant inner turmoil or conflict, bringing up unresolved issues from our past.

Therapeutic Approach

In our work together, I guide clients in self-discovery, helping them recognize patterns in their thoughts and behaviors. Together, we develop strategies to evaluate which patterns are constructive and how to adapt those that are not. My work emphasizes self-esteem and self-love, unlocking authenticity by clarifying values and aligning decisions accordingly.

I take a personalized, multidisciplinary approach, offering practical skills to take away while also exploring deeper issues and healing. Areas of focus may include boundaries, attachment styles, intrusive thoughts, self-advocacy, relationship and conflict skills, panic coping strategies, emotional regulation, reducing avoidance, boosting motivation and executive functioning, and exploring career interests.
